Los Angeles Kings defenseman Matt Greene has been placed on the injured reserve list after playing just one game this season, the team announced Monday. General Manager Dean Lombardi said only that Greene had suffered a "mid-body injury," but Canadian broadcaster TSN reported the blueliner will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a back injury in Saturday's season-opening loss to Chicago. Greene played in all 82 regular season games for Los Angeles last season in the team's run to the Stanley Cup championship, collecting four goals and 11 assists for 15 total points. To take his roster spot, the Kings recalled defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League. From UPI
