Kansas City Royals left-hander Jonathan Sanchez was traded to the Colorado Rockies Friday for right-hander Jeremy Guthrie. Both Guthrie, the Rockies' Opening Day starter, and Sanchez, who pitched a no-hitter for San Francisco in 2009, have struggled this season. Guthrie is 3-9 with a 6.95 earned run average in 19 games, including 15 starts. Sanchez is 1-6 with a 7.76 ERA in 12 starts this season. The Royals got Sanchez from the Giants last November in exchange for Melky Cabrera. The Rockies sent pitchers Jason Hammel and Matt Lindstrom to the Orioles for Guthrie in February. Guthrie, 33, is 50-74 with a 4.37 ERA in 102 career major league appearances, mostly starts, with Cleveland, Baltimore and Colorado. Sanchez, 29, is 39-52 in 186 major league games, including 130 starts, with the Giants and Royals.
