Hsieh Su-Wei edged past Laura Robson for a three-set victory Saturday and the championship at the Guangzhou International Women's Open in China. Hsieh claimed a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 decision over Robson in a match that took 2 hours, 48 minutes. It was Hsieh's second WTA championship. She won her first in March in Malaysia. Hsieh won nearly half the points when Robson served and backed the British player into 22 break-point situations. Hsieh was able to finish off six of those chances -- two in each set. She dropped serve three times in the second set as Robson pulled even but settled down in the third. She took nearly two-thirds of the points on serve in the third set in claiming the title. Robson was playing in her first WTA championship match. Hsieh collected $37,000 along with the Guangzhou title. Robson's runner-up check was for $19,000.
