Jeff Gordon made a move to claim a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup after winning Saturday's rain-shortened Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway. Jimmie Johnson, who was leading after 91 laps, triggered a multi-car crash after skidding into second-place runner Matt Kenseth, enabling Gordon sneak into the lead just before the caution flag came out. Only eight laps later, the race was halted when it began raining. The rain later turned into a severe thunderstorm and NASCAR called off the event 62 laps short of completion. The victory was the 86th career Sprint Cup win for Gordon but his first of the season. It lifted him into the second and final Chase wild card spot heading into the last five races before the championship series begins. Kasey Kahne finished second Sunday, retaining his first wild card position. Claiming third was Martin Truex Jr. Defending Pocono champ Brad Keselowski was fourth and Tony Stewart finished fifth.
