Robert Garrigus had a second consecutive 7-under-par 64 in taking a two-stroke lead after Friday's second round of the PGA Tour's CIMB Classic in Malaysia. Garrigus piled up eight birdies in an 11-hole span in getting to 14-under 128. That score would have been a 36-hole tournament record but conditions allowed players to use clean-and-place rules. Jbe Kruger, who matched the 64 by Garrigus, moved into second at 12-under. First-round leader Troy Matteson was 2-under and is tied with Greg Chalmers (66) for third, four strokes behind Garrigus. Tiger Woods, who again had two bogeys in his round, shot 4-under 67 and is tied with Brendon de Jonge (65) and Kevin Na (66) for fifth with a 36-hole total of 133. Garrigus opened his round with six pars but then ran off four consecutive birdies. After a par at the par-5 11th, Garrigus made birdies at 12 and 13. A birdie at the 15th got him to 7-under. He added another birdie at 17 but had a par putt stop short and he had a bogey at the 18th.
