Thierry Henry notched his 10th goal of the season in the 71st minute Wednesday, lifting New York Red Bull to a 1-0 decision over Chicago. Played under hot and steamy conditions, most of the game unfolded at a slow pace and remained scoreless throughout the first half. The Red Bulls (10-5-5) were denied a penalty kick in the 55th minute even though it appeared Chicago's Pavel Pardo handled the ball inside the 18-yard box. But they got another chance 16 minutes later when a streaking Henry launched a perfect left-footed volley that soared past outstretched Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson. The goal was Henry's first since April 28. New York grabbed second place in the Eastern Conference with only its second win in eight games while Chicago (9-7-4) lost for the second time in three outings.
