Also moving into the Round of 16 were 11th-seeded Nicolas Almagro of Spain, who beat American Jack Sock 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2), 6-1, and No. 12 Marin Cilic of Croatia, who managed a 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3 victory over Japan's Kei Nishikori. Slovakia's Martin Klizan also advanced with a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 defeat of 32nd-seeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy, while sixth-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych doused No. 27 Sam Querrey of the United States 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
