All is set for the grand opening next Friday of the FBA 33rd Season at the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel Sports Complex. Assembly time is 4 p.m. The upcoming tournament will have five divisions namely Inter-Company Bona fide Group A & Group B, Inter-Hotel, Inter-Commercial Open Non-Rated and the centerpiece Inter-Commercial Open Rated. “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support of basketball aficionados in Jeddah and I believed that this FBA 33rd Season will be more fun and exciting . Also, in this league we’ll be discovering new breed of good players fresh from the Philippines,” said FBA President Edgar Mendoza. Mendoza said his group is deep into preparation for the upcoming sport event which will be attended by sponsoring companies, prominent community leaders, VIPs and other well known individuals. Consul General Norman Uriel R. Garibay of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah has been invited as guest of honor. FBA is the longest running basketball league here. With Mendoza in the FBA are Commissioner Jonathan Canda together with Jeddah Officiating Group (JOG), led by Noel Miguel, and other committee members Angel Garcia, Mario Delos Santos, Jason Manacsa and Jessie Sales.
