Second-seeded Sara Errani, playing for the first time since the year's opening major event, breezed into the semifinals Friday at the Monterrey Open. Errani reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and had not seen any further tournament action until she came to Mexico. She has not lost a set in any of her three matches this week and had no trouble defeating Mandy Minella in the Friday's quarterfinals 6-1, 6-2. Errani will take on Timea Babos in the semifinals after Babos defeated Patricia Mayr-Achleitner 6-4, 6-2. Errani is looking for the third WTA title of her career. The other semifinal will send Greta Arn against Alexandra Cadantu. Arn dispatched Nina Bratchikova 6-1, 7-6 (8-6) and Cadantu was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Lourdes Dominguez Lino.
