Kenny Boynton scored 24 points in helping No. 8 Florida overcome a slow start Friday before the Gators rolled to a 79-66 win over the Central Florida Knights. Florida improved to 5-0 on the season while Central Florida fell to 3-2. The Gators were unable to score over nearly the first 4 minutes of the game as they missed their first nine shots. But 3-pointers by Scottie Wilbekin and Boynton put Florida ahead 6-5 4:35 into the game. Florida later posted an 11-0 run that Boynton finished with a jump shot that made the score 24-12. The Gators pushed the lead to 42-24 by halftime and led by as many as 25 in the second half. Central Florida, which was paced by a 20-point effort from Kasey Wilson, scored 14 consecutive points in one late spurt but never got closer than 11. Boynton's 24 points led all scorers while Wilbekin added 17 points and eight assists.
