The Abu Dhabi outfit had only claimed one win in their past 18 matches in Asia's top club competition prior to this season's edition where they have a 100 per cent record.Al Jazira coach Caio Junior is hoping his side can maintain their 100 per cent AFC Champions League (ACL) record this season when they face Esteghlal on Wednesday as they seek to right previous wrongs. The UAE champions have had a poor history in the top Asian continental competition in recent years but this season's campaign has been quite the opposite. The Brazilian told reporters ahead of Wednesday's clash in Abu Dhabi that he was motivated by the club's poor history in the ACL and wanted to change its image."Our target is to change the image that we had in the club's previous three participations as we had only one victory in 18 matches," he said.He added: “Since I came I always mention that this is the right time for Al Jazira to do something in the AFC. What they needed was just the confidence and the tactical know how.”The Brazilian, though, sounded caution ahead of the Esteghlal clash admitting they were a tough opponent and stating a draw would be a good result for his side considering their current position.“In this match we have to be patient. We are facing a very difficult match and so we have to respect Esteghlal a lot," he said."We have to have to have safety defensively and we should not take any risks to lose this match.“The aim is to finish top of the group, but not to play in an unbalanced way. Mathematically even a draw is enough, so it’s important we have good balance.”Meanwhile, Esteghlal boss Parviz Mazloumi said their previous 2-1 loss to Al Jazira was down to bad luck and that his side had come to UAE to claim the three points they missed out on in the last matchday."We came to Abu Dhabi to achieve the victory which we failed to get in Tehran because of the lack of luck," he said."We have studied Al Jazira well and we know their strengths and weaknesses and I have full confidence in my boys."
