The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday traded cornerback Aqib Talib to the New England Patriots for fourth- and seventh-round draft picks in 2013. In 4 1/2 seasons with the Bucs -- who drafted him 20th overall out of Kansas in 2008 -- Talib has recorded 18 interceptions and returned four for touchdowns in 58 games. He had 21 tackles and one interception in four games this season before he was handed a four-game suspension for testing positive for Adderall -- a psychostimulant frequently used to treat symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. A Texas grand jury indicted Talib in March of 2011 for felony assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly fired a gun at his sister's boyfriend. The charges were subsequently dropped. New England has a bye this week and resumes play Nov. 11 against Buffalo. Talib will not be eligible to play until the following week, when the Patriots play Indianapolis.
