Bowls: Edwards chases title and history

Jo Edwards will look to create history when she steps onto the mat for today's final of the world cup bowls indoor single's event for the fourth consecutive time. A win will secure a fourth-straight title for the Kiwi, something that has been achieved before in the history of the sport. The world No 1 was a finalist for the Sportswoman of the Year award at this year's Halberg Awards and also has the world champion of champions singles title to her name but she's even surprised herself by making the final of the world cup indoor single's event for the fourth consecutive time. "Three wins in a row and now a fourth year in the final, it defies belief really," New Zealand coach Dave Edwards said. "I was talking to Jo after the semifinal win and she was quite blown away herself. Whatever happens in the final, this is still an unbelievable achievement." Edwards will meet Guernsey's Alison Merrien in today's final at the at Warilla Bowling Club in Australia after Merrien beat home favourite Karen Murphy.
