Swapnil Patil, who recently impressed renowned bowlers like Wasim Akram and Maninder Singh with his ability to hit sixes with immaculate timing and power in the Gulf Super Sixes tournament, extended his form into the Dubai Cricket Council's Premier League at the Sevens ground. Patil hit seven sixes and seven fours during his whirlwind knock of 93 off just 46 balls to inspire Yogi Group to a six-wicket win over Interface. Speaking to Gulf News after the knock, Patil said: "It was good to get runs in the Gulf Super Sixes tournament played by top international cricketers and that has added to my confidence. So I played in the same style in this tournament against Interface too." Patil's knock helped Yogi Group chase Interface's impressive total of 182 for seven in 20 overs. Patil and Yogi Group, backed by Asim Ijaz Malek, who hit an unbeaten 49 off 38 balls, reached the target in 17.2 overs. Interface won the toss and elected to bat first but lost Umair early to Sandeep Singh, while Rahul Chatwani was picked up by Mohammad Ajmal, who went on to bag four wickets for 29 runs. Opener Fouad Gafour and Adnan Arif then put on 94 runs for the third wicket. Adnan hit 49, while Gafour scored 66. Yogi openers Salman Faris and Patil registered 43 in quick time until Talha Zaveri picked up the wickets of Faris and Shaiman Butt in quick succession. However, Swapnil and Asim Malek then hit the Interface bowlers to all corners of the park to put on 114 runs for the third wicket. SCORES Yogi Group bt Interface 6 wkts.
