Rudy Gay scored 21 points Friday in rallying Memphis to its fourth straight victory -- a 93-85 triumph over Houston. The Rockets owned a 10-point lead in the second quarter, but the Grizzlies soon caught up in the second half and pulled away down the stretch to hand Houston its third consecutive loss. Memphis shot only 37 percent from the field, but suffered just nine turnovers to 20 for the Rockets. Zach Randolph added 15 points and 14 rebounds for Memphis, which suffered its only loss of the year in its first game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Chandler Parsons scored 19 points to lead Houston. James Harden had 18, but he was held to 4-of-18 shooting. The Rockets had won their first two road games of the campaign.
