Marc Gasol led the way with 22 points Wednesday and helped prevent another collapse in boosting Memphis to a 105-98 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Grizzlies fought off the Clippers in the fourth quarter to even their opening-round series at 1-1. The best-of-seven series now moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 Saturday. In the first game last Sunday, the Clippers rallied from a 27-point deficit and outscored Memphis by 22 in the fourth period to pull out a stunning 99-98 victory. Wednesday's game was close throughout, but Memphis eventually built an 11-point lead with 3:49 to play. The Clippers were able to cut their deficit to five points with 19 seconds remaining on a 3-pointer by Nick Young, but Mike Conley's two foul shots with 17 seconds to go wrapped up the Memphis victory. Gasol hit 8-of-13 from the field while Rudy Gay added 20 points and O.J. Mayo had 15. Los Angeles outshot Memphis 56 percent to 47, but the Grizzlies pulled down 17 more rebounds than did the Clippers and also forced 20 Los Angeles turnovers. Chris Paul paced the Clippers with 29 points and Blake Griffin had 22.
