Kenyon Martin's tip-in with 26 seconds left put Los Angeles in front for good Wednesday and the Clippers held on to down Denver 104-98. The Nuggets fell from sixth to seventh in the Western Conference standings, a half game behind Dallas and with just a two-game cushion in their bid to make the playoffs. Los Angeles outscored the Nuggets 8-2 in the final half minute to win their fifth in a row and apply more heat on the Los Angeles Lakers in the battle for the Pacific Division title. The Clippers went into the evening only a half game behind the Lakers. Chris Paul led the Clippers with 21 points while Mo Williams had 19 off the bench. Los Angeles made 14-of-24 attempts from 3-point range, four by Williams. Denver lost for the second time in six games. Ty Lawson led the Nuggets with 24 points.
