Tim Lincecum turned in a solid seven-inning start Tuesday to lead the San Francisco Giants past the New York Mets 4-1. Lincecum (5-11) is in the midst of a disappointing season but the two-time Cy Young winner held New York to one run on six hits and struck out seven. One of Lincecum's strikeouts came on a timely called third strike on David Wright in the seventh that ended a bases-loaded threat. Jeremy Affeldt closed out the game for his second save. Marco Scutaro went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Giants and Ryan Theriot scored twice. Matt Harvey (1-1) struck out seven but took the loss, allowing three runs -- two earned -- on four hits and three walks over six innings.
