Chase Headley hit a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th inning Tuesday to give the San Diego Padres a 7-5 win over Pittsburgh. With Will Venable on second, Headley worked a full count and then got to Daniel McCutcheon (0-1) for the game-winning home run over the right-field wall -- his 21st homer of the season. Carlos Quentin doubled and drove in three runs for the Padres and Venable went 4-for-5 with an RBI. Headley's heroics made Miles Mikolas (2-1) the winner. Pirates starter A.J. Burnett escaped with a no-decision after being roughed up for four runs on 12 hits over 6 1/3 innings. Garrett Jones homered for Pittsburgh in the top of the ninth inning to tie the score and send the game into extra innings.
