Clayton Richard yielded only one run over seven innings Friday and the San Diego Padres stifled the New York Mets 3-1. Richard (8-11) work around eight hits and a pair of walks and the Padres infield turned three double plays in the opener of a three-game series. Luke Gregerson wiggled out of a two-on, none-out jam in the eighth, striking out Andres Torres and David Wright, and Huston Street recorded the final four outs for his 18th save. Chris Denorfia and Yonder Alonso each drove in a run for San Diego. New York's R.A. Dickey (14-3) was saddled with the loss, surrendering three runs (two earned) on four hits over seven innings. Ronny Cedeno went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mets.
