Jeff Suppan kept up his resurgence Tuesday, pitching the San Diego Padres to a 3-1 win over Colorado. Suppan (2-0) worked five innings for his second win after going for more than a year without appearing in a Major League game. Suppan allowed one run on four hits and two walks before turning the game over to a parade from the bullpen that ended with Dale Thayer earning his first save. Will Venable had two hits and an RBI for the Padres, who improved to 4-4 on their current home stand. Todd Helton drove in Colorado's lone run. Alex White (0-1) took the loss in his first start since coming up from Triple-A Colorado Springs. White allowed two runs on six hits and struck out five over 6 1/3 innings.
