Everth Cabrera singled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday to give the San Diego Padres a 2-1 victory over Cincinnati. The Padres were held scoreless through seven innings, but a homer by Logan Forsythe tied it in the eighth and San Diego came through again in the ninth to win their season-best sixth straight game. Logan Ondrusek (3-2), who had retired the final batter in the eighth inning for the Reds, came on to work the ninth as well and promptly gave up a leadoff double to Yasmani Grandal. Yonder Alonso was walked intentionally and Cameron Maybin's sacrifice bunt turned into a single that loaded the bases. Ondrusek was then replaced by Sam LeCure and his first pitch was stroked to center by Cabrera for the winning hit. It was Cincinnati's third straight loss. The Reds' run came in the second on an RBI triple by Chris Heisey. Huston Street (2-0) collected the win by working the top of the ninth.
