Tommy Milone bounced back from his worst performance of the season Wednesday by going the distance in the Oakland A's 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Milone (7-5) did not make it past five innings while giving up eight runs in four innings against Colorado last week. He escaped with a no-decision in that one, but had gone 0-2 in his four previous starts. Against the Dodgers, however, he allowed a lone run on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk while throwing the first complete game of his career. This was his 19th start in two major league seasons spent with Washington and Oakland. The Athletics have won the first two contests in the three-game interleague series. Seth Smith doubled home Oakland's first run in the fourth to create a tie and the Athletics took the lead for good in the fifth when Eric Sogard came in on a double-play grounder off the bat of Josh Reddick. Yoenis Cespedes had an RBI single later in the fifth and Brandon Moss added a solo homer for the A's in the eighth. Nate Eovaldi (0-3), making his fourth start for the Dodgers, gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings to take the loss. His only major league victory came last year.
