The Mets led 4-0 in the eighth and appeared to be cruising to a win when the Rockies loaded the bases with two outs against Jon Rauch. Tim Byrdak relieved and Todd Helton greeted him with a pinch-hit grand slam to tie it up. New York then took a 5-4 lead in the top of the 10th on an RBI double from Kirk Nieuwenhuis, but Colorado's Carlos Gonzalez responded with a solo shot in the bottom of the frame off Frank Francisco (1-1) to re-knot the score. In the 11th, David Wright singled off Matt Belisle (1-2), went to third on Lucas Duda's hit and scored when Davis lined a shot up the middle. Ramon Ramirez nailed down the win with his first save for the Mets, who banged out 18 hits and claimed the rubber match of a three-game series at Coors Field.
