The Twins won for only the second time in nine games, getting a combined two-hitter from Samuel Deduno and two relievers. Josh Willingham added a solo homer and Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Deduno (5-2) worked seven innings, allowing both Seattle hits and striking out nine. Jason Vargas (13-9) gave up six runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 while the Mariners were losing for the fourth time in six outings.
