Justin Verlander struck out six over six innings Tuesday to lead the Detroit Tigers past Seattle 6-4. Verlander (3-1) allowed three runs on seven hits, which was enough to put the Tigers in position to end a five-game losing streak to the Mariners. The contest ended in dramatic fashion with Don Kelly leaping into the stands to snag a foul ball by Jesus Montero to end the game with two runners in scoring position. The circus catch clinched save No. 6 for Jose Valverde. Prince Fielder had a solo home run for the Tigers. Delmon Young drove in a pair of runs. Kyle Seager had two RBI for the Mariners. Kevin Millwood (0-4) took the loss with five runs on eight hits and five walks over five innings.
