amie Moyer, the oldest pitcher in major league history to win a game, became the oldest to drive in a run Wednesday in Colorado's 6-1 victory over Arizona. Moyer, who will turn 50 in November, delivered two runs in the fourth inning with an infield single that traveled barely 70 feet. He also worked 6 2/3 innings to improve to 2-3 for the season. The Colorado starter made major league history April 17 when he put together a seven-inning stint in defeating San Diego, thus becoming the oldest winning pitcher ever in the big leagues. Moyer first pitched in the majors 26 years ago and has seen action with eight different teams. With the Rockies holding a 3-0 advantage, Moyer came to the plate in the fourth inning with runners on second and third and two away. He chopped at a 2-2 pitch from Patrick Corbin (2-2) and the ball trickled between the mound and first base. Second baseman Aaron Hill charged the ball and dashed toward the line in an attempt to tag out the slow-moving Moyer. Hill's swipe tag missed, however, and Moyer made it safely to first, and while all that was going on, both runners scored to give the Rockies a 5-0 lead. Dexter Fowler had a single, double and triple while driving in two runs for the Rockies. It was the second time in Moyer's career that he had two RBI in the same game. He has played in 699 games and has driven in a total of 15 runs.
