Luol Deng fueled a big second quarter Wednesday that launched Chicago to an easy 101-78 whipping of Dallas. The Mavericks, slumping without the services of Dirk Nowitzki, lost their third in a row. Deng scored 22 points, five above his season average, while Joakim Noah had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls. Chicago led by only one after the opening period, but outscored the Mavericks by 20 during the first 7:30 of the second quarter. The Bulls went on to win for the second time in three games. Shawn Marion scored 18 points to lead Dallas, which is expected to be without Nowitzki through the end of December. The Mavericks' O.J. Mayo was held to only four points after having averaged 20.8 per contest.
