Ryan Lavarnway collected a pair of RBI and scored the go-ahead run on a Tampa Bay error Tuesday, rallying the Boston Red Sox to a 7-5 win over the Rays. The Red Sox trailed 3-0 after three innings but James Loney, Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedrioa each drove in a run over the next two innings to forge a 3-3 tie. Then in the sixth, Lavarnway delivered a one-out single against Kyle Farnsworth (1-6), went to second on a Scott Podsednik hit and to third on an out. Pedro Ciriaco followed by hitting a grounder that third baseman Sean Rodriguez threw away, allowing Lavarnway to come home with decisive run. The designated hitter broke the game open with a two-run double in the next frame and the Red Sox took a second straight win in their four-game set with the Rays. Felix Doubront (11-9) allowed only one hit but walked five over six full innings en route to the win. Andrew Bailey secured the victory with his fifth save. Ben Zobrist went 2-for-4 with four RBI for Tampa Bay.
