Chris Young stroked a two-run homer in the 11th inning to give the Arizona Diamondbacks a 4-2 victory over San Diego. The win improved the Diamondbacks to 4-0, their best start in franchise history and sank the Padres to 1-4. Young stepped to the plate after Gerardo Parra was grazed by a pitch and sent a hanging slider by Micah Owings (0-1) into the left field seats to snap a 2-2 tie. Young's homer gave the win to Craig Breslow (1-0), who pitched a perfect 10th. J.J. Putz worked the 11th for his third save of the season. Orlando Hudson and Chase Headley both had an RBI and a run scored for the Padres.
