Bangladesh won the toss and put Scotland into bat in their World Cup Pool A match at Saxton Oval in Nelson on Thursday.
Bangladesh need to beat Scotland and either England or New Zealand to make the quarter-finals, while Scotland are searching for their first win.
"It looks like there is moisture in the wicket and the ball will swing a bit," Bangladesh captain Mushrafe Mortaza said.
"Hopefully, we will restrict them to a good total that we can chase down. Our bowling was not up to the mark in the last match, hopefully we will come back nicely in this match."
Bangladesh have made one change since their loss last week to Sri Lanka with Mominul Haque replacing Nasir Hossain.
Scotland have gone with the same XI who suffered a one-wicket loss to Afghanistan in their last outing.
