Al-Jaish defeated Al-Rayyan 33-23 in the friendly international championship organized by the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) at the indoor hall of Al-Gharafa SC on Monday. Two matches will be held on Tuesday as Al-Najma of Bahrain will take on Thamen Al-Hejaj of Iran while Al-Jaish will shake hands with Qatar national team. The championship comes in light of the preparation of the Qatar senior handball team for the World Handball Championship to be held in Spain in January 2013. The friendly event features the participation of five teams including Qatar national team, Al-Rayyan, Al-Jaish, Al-Najma of Bahrain and Thamen Al-Hejaj of Iran.
