Underrated Ajay Srivatsan played the best tennis one has seen from his for sometime to earn a place in the semifinals of the boys' under-17 singles at the Falcon Insurance Company-sponsored Annual Tennis Tournament organised by the Indian Social Club Muscat. In a thrilling quarterfinal match, unseeded Ajay held his nerves and overcame pressure to record his personal best to dump fourth seed Subash Pillai 8-5 to enter the semifinal. The No. 2 seed in the boys' under-12 singles, Anirudh Sriram marched into the semifinals with a masterly performance defeating Lakshmi Narayan 8-1. Anirudh lined-up a semifinal date with fourth seed Sabharish Kumar who scored a hard-fought 8-6 victory to overcome Ankith AR. Both semifinals of the under-12 are scheduled to be played this morning and the final at 7 pm in the evening. The under-10 final will also be played on today evening.
