Zamalek’s Egyptian Premier League game against Masry, which was postponed for security reasons, will be played on 30 December behind closed doors, the country’s football association said on Saturday. “The match would take place on 30 December at Military Academy Stadium after we received confirmation from the interior ministry,” read a statement on the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) website. The match was supposed to be played last Sunday but was delayed after Zamalek’s group of hardcore supporters, Ultras White Knights, threatened to storm the stadium despite a crowd ban. Zamalek were ordered to play the game behind closed doors due to the excessive use of fireworks by their fans. Ahly’s match against bitter foes Ismaily, which was also postponed for the same reason, will be played on 27 December behind closed doors. Defending champions Ahly lie second in the league table with 17 points, five behind leaders Harras El-Hodoud who played two games more. Zamalek, who played a game less than Ahly, are seventh on 13 points.
