Lanus were too strong for Union Santa Fe as they beat the Inicial's bottom side 2-0 to climb to eighth place in the division. Silvio Romero netted the opening goal in the 23rd minute after racing onto a long pass forward, leaving a near-static defence in his wake before lobbing goalkeeper Martin Perafan. Lanus had to wait until the 76th minute for the strike that finished off the contest. Mario Regueiro was impeded by Bruno Bianchi as he strained to reach a cross from the right, and that resulted in both a penalty and a red card for the offending defender. Regueiro was quickly to his feet to fire the spot-kick high into the left corner. Tigre, who like Union Santa Fe have yet to win in the league this season, managed a draw in their tenth game as they claimed a 0-0 result away to mid-table Argentinos Juniors. FIFA
