The United States' men's 4x100m relay team set the fastest time in the world this year by prevailing in 37.61sec at the Monaco Diamond League meeting on Friday. The American team -- Trell Kimmons, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Ryan Bailey -- beat their second team of Mike Rodgers, Maurice Mitchell, Travis Patton and Jeff Demps, who finished in 37.83sec. The winning team's time enabled the USA to usurp the Jamaican squad spearheaded by Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake, who set a time of 37.82sec in April. The USA and Jamaica are expected to be the two main contenders for 4x100m gold at the London Olympics.
