Newcomers Ez Aghab Para United took the honours in this year's National Paints five-a-side tournament at Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club. The winners came out on top in the event to lift the National Paints Trophy after edging past Bou Meera Team 1-0 on penalties in the final. Some 32 teams — 20 of which were newcomers — took part in the competition, which was keenly contested but played in a spirit of sportsmanship and fun. Roamworks Incredibles won the Gulf News Plate after beating Air Defence 3-1, while the winners of the A&E Bowl competition were Aggreko, who beat Oilfield Supplies Ltd 3-2. The Ajman Metals Spoon winners were the Weasel Wackers, coming out on top after another close match against Southern Sun 2-1 on penalties. A special mention has to go to the referees, match-day organiser Kevin Scora and sponsors National Paint, Gulf News, A&E and AMCC.
