Udinese left it late to clinch a share of the spoils with Palermo in a 1-1 draw, which moves them level on points with Lazio in third place in Serie A. Gabriel Torje cancelled out Fabrizio Miccoli's first-half goal in the 84th minute to keep Francesco Guidolin's side in the hunt for a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. Palermo remain in midtable with no relegation worries, but no European ambitions either. Miccoli showed his prowess from a free-kick in the ninth minute when he lifted the ball over the wall, but Samir Handanovic scrambled across goal and pushed the effort wide for a corner. Antonio Di Natale had the visitors' first chance of the game five minutes later with Emiliano Viviano making a good save. Miccoli then left Handanovic with no chance as he opened the scoring with another fine goal to add to his personal tally, shooting across the Udinese goalkeeper and into the far corner. Di Natale again came up with Udinese's response, going closer this time but with Viviano again made the save. The battle between the two strikers continued with Miccoli shooting off target from outside the penalty area before volleying across the face of goal in the last minute of the first half. As Udinese continued to look for the equaliser Di Natale had the first chance of the second half, but his effort was off target. Kwadwo Asamoah missed another opening and it looked like it was not going to be Udinese's night when Di Natale missed from a good position in the 82nd minute. But just two minutes later Torje brought the visitors level. The Udinese substitute received the ball from Roberto Pereyra and left Viviano no chance with a shot inside the far post.
