Swiss Morganella sent home

Switzerland defender Michel Morganella has been sent home from the Olympics for posting an allegedly racist remark on Twitter. A spokesman for the Swiss Olympic team confirmed to Press Association Sport the 23-year-old player had been expelled after directing an insulting message toward South Koreans on the social networking site. The comment came in the wake of Switzerland's 2-1 defeat to Korea Republic on Sunday. The spokesman said Morganella had accepted the decision and had apologised to the Korean team and South Korean people.
