Sporting Gijon have confirmed the departure of Manuel Preciado as coach. Manuel Vega-Arango, the president of La Liga strugglers Gijon, made the announcement at an emotional press conference this afternoon. "Perhaps it is, but I refuse to call this a termination or a dismissal, I call it a change on the bench," Vega-Arango told www.realsporting.com. "How difficult and how painful decisions are to make sometimes." Preciado took charge at Sporting in 2006 and led them into the top flight in 2008. The Asturian club are second from bottom in La Liga and have won just one of their last six league games. The club confirmed that Inaki Tejada will coach the side against Osasuna on Sunday.
