Sparta Prague have signed prolific Czech Republic striker David Lafata on a three-and-a-half year deal from title rivals Jablonec. Lafata, 31, has been the leading Gambrinus Liga goalscorer in the past two seasons and is at the top of the charts again this term with 13 goals. "The signing of David is a clear sign to everyone that Sparta want to show power and quality, not only on the Czech scene but also in Europe," Sparta coach Vítezslav Lavicka was reported as saying on uefa.com. Sparta are third in the Czech league and face Chelsea in the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League. From : Fifa
