Ajax forward Kolbeinn Sigthorsson has moved closer to a return to the first team after playing 45 minutes in a friendly against PSV Eindhoven. The 22-year-old has not played competitively since August after suffering a shoulder injury, but is in the squad for Thursday's KNVB Beker match against Vitesse. "That was very nice. It went very well," he said on the club's website. "If only the final pass had been better, then I would have had more chances. I hope to play this weekend (against VVV-Venlo) or at least to be on the bench. But I prefer to sit there on Thursday against Vitesse. I'm ready." It has been a frustrating time for Sigthorsson since he moved to the Amsterdam Arena from AZ Alkmaar in 2011. The forward scored five times in his opening ten matches last season before an ankle injury kept him out of the side for the next seven months. From FIFA
