Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood gave a fan the chance to experience how it feels in the manager's hot seat during his team's 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday. Sherwood has engaged in several conversations with boisterous Spurs supporters who sit behind the manager's dug-out at White Hart Lane this season, but one especially caught his eye after continually offering unsolicited advice about substitutions and tactics. And in a typically quirky gesture, the always-entertaining Sherwood invited the fan, who was even wearing the club-branded gilet often favoured by the Spurs boss, to take his seat on the bench during stoppage time of his team's final game of the Premier League season. "This guy sits up there every week, shouting 'Get him off Tim, get him on Tim'. He is the proper manager, so it was his chance to have a go," Sherwood said. "He's nicked my gilet too! Football is all about the fans. It's only friendly banter and we should have more in the game." Whether Sherwood will be around to banter with Spurs fans next season remains to be seen, with several reports claiming he will be dismissed just six months after replacing Andre Villas-Boas. Ajax's Frank de Boer and Southampton's Mauricio Pochettino have been linked with the north London club and Sherwood plans to seek clarification over his future from chairman Daniel Levy. "I need to speak to the chairman. It was obviously me, Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand who stepped up from the development team and overall we are happy with what we have done. We are not sure we could have done much more," Sherwood said. "It would be nice to get it clarified. We have looked at pre-season a little bit and we need to get to work on those transfer targets. Someone else might have a different opinion." Source: AFP
