Santos Laguna beat Pumas 2-1 on Sunday to maintain their lead at the top of the Clausura standings. Santos needed the victory to keep their three-point advantage with nearest rivals Tigres and Atlante also winning. The leaders' win came courtesy of goals from Christian Suarez and Rodolfo Salinas within the first 20 minutes, only for Salinas to score an own goal to leave his supporters on edge for the remainder. Atlante were 3-2 winners against Queretaro as Osvaldo Martinez smashed a winner in added time. German Alemanno and Pablo Vitti had given Queretaro the lead on two occasions but Martinez levelled once and Juan Ezequiel Cuevas managed another equaliser before the dramatic winner. Tigres' win was less thrilling as they beat America 1-0 with Hector Mancilla scoring the decisive goal in the first half. Giants Chivas continued their difficult start to the season as they lost 2-1 to Morelia as Miguel Sabah struck twice after Omar Arellano's opener. Pachuca beat Toluca 4-3 in an entertaining clash while Monterrey were 3-0 victors against outclassed San Luis. Cruz Azul beat Jaguares 2-0 and Estudiantes Tecos shared a goalless draw with Atlas. Puebla drew 1-1 with Tijuana.
