Roma name Zeman as new coach

Roma have appointed Zdenek Zeman as their new coach, the club announced early this evening. The 65-year-old Czech, who led Roma from 1997 until 1999, has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend it for a further season. Zeman recently led Pescara to promotion to Italy's top flight in his first season at the club. The veteran tactician has replaced Luis Enrique, who stepped down last month after just one year in charge. Roma endured a disappointing campaign under the Spanish coach, finishing seventh - outside the European places.
