The London 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games’ athletics competitions will be starting Friday and last for 10 days at the Olympic Stadium in London. The Qatari squad includes Noor Al-Malki (Women’s 100m), Hamza Driouch (1500m), Mohammed Al-Qarni (1500m), Mohammed Bakheet (Marathon), Mutaz Barsham (High Jump) and Musaab Abdulrahman Balah (men 800m). Qatar’s Noor Al-Malki will begin her participation at the Olympics on Friday as she will compete in Women’s 100m qualifications to be staged at Olympic Stadium. Qatar’s Musaab Abdulrahman Balah, Hamza Driouch and Mohammed Al-Qarni arrived in London on Wednesday while Mutaz Barsham will arrive in London next Thursday. The technical meeting of athletics competitions will be held tomorrow at the Athletes Village. Khalifa Abdulmalek and Mohammad Sulaiman as well as Coaches of Qatar’s Athletics attended the meeting. On the other hand, the traditional Olympic Games meeting of the IAAF Council took place on Wednesday with attendance of Dahlan Al-Hamad, IAAF Vice President. The meeting confirmed the dates of the 2013 IAAF World Championship in Moscow, the 2015 IAAF World Championship in Beijing and the 2017 IAAF World Championship to be held in London. Qatar’s Rashid Al-Athba finished seven in Double Trap Competition at the 30th Summer Olympic Games being held in London until 12 August 2012, on Thursday. Nasser bin Saleh Al-Attiyah was claimed the bronze medal of the Skeet Event, on Wednesday.
