Paris St Germain coach Antoine Kombouare described himself as "more than happy" after his side's victory at St Etienne saw them move three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 going into the winter break. The only goal of the game came in the first half when Mathieu Bodmer's powerful header hit the upright and went in off St Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier as PSG went clear of Montpellier at the top of the table after Rene Girard's side went down at Evian. It will offer Kombouare some breathing space ahead of the league's resumption on 14 January with his position having constantly been under scrutiny. He told reporters after the game: "I am more than happy. After the draw against Lille I said we should be able to recover the lost two points and we have faced a great team in St Etienne. "What the players showed is simply enormous. It was a complicated game. Being top will give us confidence. This rewards everyone's work. When I say everyone, I think my team of course, but also the staff, supporters and all people who work at the club and are part of the PSG family. "
