Brazil international striker Alexandre Pato said Thursday he is desperate to overcome his injury woes and begin playing for his new club Corinthians. The 23-year-old joined the reigning FIFA Club World Cup champions last week after five years with Italian Serie A giants AC Milan. He was determined to resurrect his career after being reduced to 25 matches for AC Milan in the past two years due to injury. "I am very happy with my decision," Pato said after arriving in Sao Paulo on Thursday. "I chose Corinthians, who are the world champions and I'm desperate to play my first match." Pato hoped the move can lead to a change of fortune, allowing him to re-establish his place in Brazil's national team under new coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. He admitted to face a battle to win over Corinthians' notoriously passionate supporters. "You can be certain that I will do everything I can to win over the fans," Pato said. The forward completed a routine medical exam at Corinthians' Sao Paulo headquarters on Thursday and is expected to be officially presented the club's fans on Friday. Source : XINHUA
