Bastia have snapped up Paris Saint-Germain's promising young forward Hervin Ongenda on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old French U-21 international made six appearances for the Parisiens last season and will now get valuable first-team experience on Corsica.
His arrival will be a welcome boost to Bastia who had hoped to rely on veteran striker Brandao this season, but saw the summer signing banned after his apparent headbutt on PSG's Thiago Motta when the two sides met last month.
Ongenda is the second signing of the day after the arrival of Benjamin Mokulu on a season-long loan from Belgian side Mechelen with an option to buy. The 24-year-old successfully underwent a medical at the Ligue 1 club and will join up with his team-mates for the first time on Monday.
The former Belgian U-21 striker scored four goals in 21 appearances for the Jupiler Pro League outfit since making the move from fellow Belgian side Lokeren in 2013.
