Olympic medal: W swim 200 free

Allison Schmitt of the United States won the Olympic gold medal Tuesday in the women's 200-meter freestyle. Camille Muffat of France took the silver. The bronze went to Bronte Barratt of Australia. In the 400-meter freestyle event earlier in these Olympics, Muffat rallied to catch Schmitt and win the gold medal. This time, Schmitt built a huge lead that Muffat could not overcome.
